The year is 628 AD, Byzantium just conquered all of Armenia from the Sassanid Empire, adding Armenia into the Roman empire once again. In 646 AD, the new muslim Caliphate conquered Armenia. In 885 AD, Armenia gained independence from the Caliphate now called Abbasid. To the south in 909 AD, Vaspurakan gained independence.
