The year is 411 AD. The Romans are gone and the Celts are free again. The Britons inhabit England and Wales, the Picts inhabit Scotland, and the Hibernians inhabit Ireland. By 430 AD, the Germanic tribes of the Saxons, Angles, and Jutes set sail across the sea and landed in England. They began to take it over and became the Anglo-Saxons. In 445 AD, the Welsh Celts founded the kingdom of Wales in modern-day northern Wales. In 455 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded the kingdom of Kent. In 477 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded the kingdom of Sussex (South Saxons). By 500 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded the kingdom of Bernicia in northeastern England and the Hibernians were divided into the Connacht, Ulster, Munster, and Leinster. In 519 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded Wessex (West Saxons). In 527 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded Essex (East Saxons). In 559 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded Deira just south of Bernicia. In 571 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded the kingdom of East Anglia. In 584 AD, the Anglo-Saxons founded the kingdom of Mercia in central England. In 655 AD, Bernicia and Deira formed a union forming Northumbria under Bernician rule. In 687 AD, Wessex conquered Sussex. In 795 AD, Mercia conquered East Anglia and colonized land to the west. In 808 AD, the king of Kent died and Mercia took over. In 813 AD, Mercia conquered Essex. In 826 AD, Wessex and Mercia fought a war and Wessex won. As a result, Wessex gained Kent, Essex, and Cornwall. In 827 AD, East Anglia fought a successful revolutionary war against Mercia. In 844 AD, the Picts founded the kingdom of Scotland. In 868 AD, the Danish vikings conquered Northumbria. In 869 AD, Denmark colonized land to the Irish strait and began conquering Mercia. In 871 AD, Denmark conquered East Anglia and Essex from Wessex. In 875 AD, Denmarks conquered Mercia's eastern coastline. In 919 AD, Wessex conquered Mercia and half of Denmark's territory in England. In 928 AD, Wessex finished kicking the Danish vikings out of England and united the Kingdom of England! In 946 AD, the kingdom of Strathclyde was founded.
